7 Things We'd Rather Do Than Sit Inside This Summer
Summer is here. I repeat—summer is here! The days are longer, the weather is better, and the excuses for staying inside are getting harder and harder to come by. Don't get us wrong—we appreciate a good couch sesh every now and then (it’s all good). But if we're being honest, we'd much rather be outside doing something. Duh!
And as much as we love talking about insoles (ha), this blog isn't really about insoles. Well, sort of. It's about getting out there and using your Remind insoles. Skate something new. Explore somewhere different. Stay active. Make some memories. And if our bitchin’ ass insoles happen to make all of those things a little more comfortable along the way? Hey, even better.
With that said, here are seven things we'd rather do than sit inside this summer. Who's down!?
1. Skate a New Spot or Skatepark
Let's start with the obvious one. If you skate, you know summer is prime time for skate missions. Maybe it's finally making the drive to that skatepark you've been wanting to hit. Maybe it's peeping a new street spot with the squad. Maybe it's just staying out a little longer because the sun just doesn’t seem to want to set. Whatever it is, summer always seems to bring out the best sessions.
The only downside? Well, maybe not downside, but more skating usually means more wear and tear on your feet. That's why proper insoles matter.
Every handrail, every gap, every awkward landing—it all adds up over time. Fortunately, the right support and impact protection can help keep your feet feeling fresh so you can focus on skating instead of complaining about heel bruises. And let's be real—we've all done enough of that. Upgrade your insoles and max out your stoke meters!
5K. 10K. Half marathon. Full marathon. Maybe an Ultra!? Honestly, it doesn't matter. Summer is a great time to challenge yourself and sign up for something you've never done before.
Running has a funny way of teaching patience. You don't become a runner overnight. You basically just put in the miles, trust the process, and see what happens. And while everybody obsesses over shoes, training plans, pace goals, blah, blah, blah—very few people think about what's actually inside their shoes.
The best insoles for running can help improve comfort, support, and shock absorption throughout your training and race day alike. Your future self crossing that finish line will appreciate it. So just FYI, we wanna be along for the ride. Trust Remind and see why thousands of runners are making the switch!
Sometimes the best way to recharge is to leave your phone in your pocket and disappear into nature for a few hours. Whether you're hiking local trails or tackling something a little more ambitious, summer is the perfect season to get outside and explore. But keep in mind, all those miles add up quickly on the trail.
Uneven terrain, elevation changes, and long days on your feet can take a toll if you're not properly supported. That's why so many people look for the best insoles for hiking before heading out on bigger adventures. Because all those insane views are a lot more enjoyable when your feet aren't screaming at you. Our Medic, Destin, Cush, REDE and Remedy insoles are all great for hiking. Toss a set in your favorite hiking shoes and tackle those trails with confidence!
4. Add Daily Walks to Your Routine
This one sounds simple…and that’s because it is! It’s also insanely beneficial. Walk more. That's it.
A quick walk before work. A sunset walk after dinner. A lunchtime stroll to clear your head. It's one of the easiest habits you can add to your routine, and the benefits stack up surprisingly fast. More movement. Better recovery. Less screen time. More fresh air. Ah, it’s all so lovely. And if you're putting in a few extra miles every week, comfortable insoles can help make those walks something you actually look forward to. Simple wins count too. Get those steps in!
If your mountain bike has been sitting in the garage collecting dust, consider this your sign to get your old pal tuned up and hit the dirt! Summer and mountain biking are a pretty perfect combination. Fast descents. New trails. Good friends. Questionable line choices. You know the deal!
While most riders focus on suspension and tires, your feet are still doing a ton of work throughout every ride. Support and comfort matter, especially during longer days in the saddle. Besides, any excuse to spend more time outside sounds pretty good to us. Just watch out for those rattlers!
Not every adventure needs to involve a board, a bike, or a finish line. I mean, they should…but they don’t have to. Ha! For real, though. Sometimes it's just about going somewhere new. A road trip. A weekend getaway. A flight to a place you've never been (or maybe one you've visited a million times). Whatever! Summer is the season for exploring and traveling, and anyone who travels a bunch knows comfort is key.
The funny thing about travel is that people spend weeks planning where they're going but forget about the thing they're standing on the entire trip. Their feet! Airports, sightseeing, long walks, and full days of exploring can add up quick. Real quick. The best insoles for walking can make a huge difference when you're spending entire days on your feet. Trust us. Your feet don't care how nice the hotel is. But they’ll be relieved to be resting comfortably on multiple layers of stoke along the way.
7. Try Something New
This one is probably my favorite. Should we hold each other to a little accountability contest? Deal! Learn a new trick. Take the road less traveled. Join a run club. Sign up for that event you've been putting off. Try something—anything—new! Shoot, even though it has nothing to do with insoles, take a surf lesson or get in any body of water you can find! Summer is summer. It has a way of making people a little more adventurous. And honestly? That's such a good thing.
Some of the best memories come from saying "why not?" and seeing where the day takes you. The goal isn't perfection. It's participation. Get out there!
Make This Summer Count
Look, we're not saying you can't spend a day inside every now and then. I mean, I’m inside as you read this (even though I do have one foot out the door). But let’s be real—summer tends to fly by. Before you know it, the days get shorter, the weather changes, and you're wondering where all that extra daylight went. Start today!
Go skate that new park. Sign up for that race. Take that hike. Book that trip. Try something new. Step out of your damn comfort zone! It’s the best.
And if you're planning on spending more time on your feet this summer—which we highly recommend—make sure they're supported by something better than the flimsy stock insoles that came with your shoes. Because every summer adventure starts from the ground up. We want to be there on every mission, every session and every race. Promise? Okay, dope.
We'll see you out there!
